Winner of Queen’s Award to Enterprise answers our calls 24/7

You never get an engaged tone when you phone Counselling Works. If we can’t answer it ourselves, the call is automatically transferred to our dedicated team in an award winning call centre in North Wales. There is never a queue and never a menu.

Overnight calls are routed to British staff based in New Zealand (they are 12 hours ahead of us, so 03:00 in the UK is 15:00 in NZ). Whether the call is answered in North Wales or NZ, we know quickly because they text us and send us an e-mail.

We are small enough to care, big enough to cope.

Highly successful Person-centred couples course. Next events

Our highly success couples course has now trained hundreds of people in the subtle skill of Person-centred Couples counselling. Here are the dates of the next two, 6 day courses:

Number 24 – 5, 6 and 7 March and 7, 8 and 9 March 2015

Number 25 – 17, 18 and 19 September and 1, 2 and 3 October 2015

The courses are held in the Cock Hotel in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes and cost £490. The courses are for Person-centred counsellors who are trained to BACP Accreditation level, although you don’t actually need to be accredited to attend the course. It will take a counsellor with no previous couples counselling experience to confidently contracting with couples. This course is an investment in your future, rather than simply another CPD event.

New Autism Awareness Day

There is an increasing awareness of the importance of Autism to counsellors. Whilst the latest estimates indicate that it affects 1 in 88 of people, counsellors are likely to encounter it much more often. If you see individual clients, expect about 1 in 10 to be affected, if you see couples that can increase to 30% to 40% of your case load. Sounds like our next “Autism Awareness Day” has come just in time. It is on 24 April 2015 and costs £60 (£80 if funder by your employer). This day will give you an excellent overview of what autism looks like in your clients and tips on how to work with AS clients.

The event is held in the Cock Hotel in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes. The hotel is half of the origin of a “Cock and Bull” story (the Bull Hotel next door is the other half) and Stony Stratford is delightful little market town with rich history going back to Roman times.
