New Autism Awareness Day

There is an increasing awareness of the importance of Autism to counsellors. Whilst the latest estimates indicate that it affects 1 in 88 of people, counsellors are likely to encounter it much more often. If you see individual clients, expect about 1 in 10 to be affected, if you see couples that can increase to 30% to 40% of your case load. Sounds like our next “Autism Awareness Day” has come just in time. It is on 24 April 2015 and costs £60 (£80 if funder by your employer). This day will give you an excellent overview of what autism looks like in your clients and tips on how to work with AS clients.

The event is held in the Cock Hotel in Stony Stratford, Milton Keynes. The hotel is half of the origin of a “Cock and Bull” story (the Bull Hotel next door is the other half) and Stony Stratford is delightful little market town with rich history going back to Roman times.
