Question : How much will it cost?
Answer :

There is a sliding scale of charges according to the category of counsellor you select. You pay an agreed amount for each session. This could be anything between £7.50 - £70 per session. The first session needs to be paid for by credit or debit card (cash or cheque by arrangement), once you are given the name of the counsellor. A small, one-off, fee to cover the cost of making the initial arrangements for you is added to the first session. The Arrangement Fee is £12. Counsellors may charge extra for evenings and weekend appointments.

The fees you pay will be fully explained to you before you see a counsellor - there are no concealed charges.

You will pay the counsellor directly by cash or cheque for any subsequent sessions.

Question : How many sessions will I need?
Answer :

This is impossible to say. We know that the average number of session is 8, but some people elect to see a counsellor for a long time, others are happy with only very few sessions. It will ALWAYS be your choice and CWN counsellors will never pressurise you to have more sessions than you need, we see that as unethical.

Question : Will Counselling Works help me to select the best counsellor for me?
Answer :

Yes, this is very important to us. We will spend time understanding your needs and will help you to find a counsellor who is right for you.

If you decide you would like to change to a different counsellor you will not be asked to pay a second Administration Fee.

Question : Can I see a counsellor in the evenings, weekends, or at different times?
Answer :

Yes, just let us know and we will ensure that you have a counsellor who is able to be flexible and meet your needs. The counsellor may charge you more after 18:00hrs and at weekends.
