The fees you pay will be fully explained to you before you see a counsellor - there are no concealed charges.
You will pay the counsellor directly by cash or cheque for any subsequent sessions.
A lot of counselling agencies seem to have a waiting list - how quickly can I see a counsellor
We don't like waiting lists. We understand that you need help NOW. That is why we are called Counselling Works Now. We aim to arrange your first appointment within a week. We often do it much quicker than that.
How many sessions will I need?
This is impossible to say. We know that the average number of session is 8, but some people elect to see a counsellor for a long time, others are happy with very few session. It will ALWAYS be your choice and CWN counsellors will never pressurise you to have more sessions than you need. We see that as unethical.
Can I be assured of high professional standards?
All counsellors are required to have clinical supervision of their work at least once a month.
They must be members of a professional counselling association with an enforceable code of ethics. Counsellors are members of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP), or the Confederation of Scottish Counselling Agencies (COSCA), or British Psychological Society, or the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy. BACP & COSCA members are often registered with the United Kingdom Register of Counsellors too.
All are required to hold individual Professional Indemnity Insurance.
Will you help me to select the right counsellor for me?
Yes, this is very important to us. We will spend time understanding your needs and will help you to find a counsellor who is right for you.
If you decide you would like to change to a different counsellor you will not be asked to pay a second Administration Fee.
Where will the counselling take place?
We have premises in Bedford & Milton Keynes, and services in Ayr, Northampton, Swansea, Leicestershire & Lancashire. We ensure that we provide high quality comfortable premises, which are not used for any other purpose.
This sounds like a great scheme, why have I not heard about it before?
The Counselling Works Nowconcept is new and designed to take the risk and guess work out of finding a counsellor. We will already have asked the questions you know you need to ask, but are not quite sure what they are! We will help you select an appropriate counsellor.
My work means that I have to come at different times - is that ok?
Yes, just let us know and we will ensure that you have a counsellor who is able to be flexible and meet your needs.
Can I see a counsellor in the evening or at weekends?
Yes, but the counsellor may charge you a little more after 18:00hrs and at weekends.
